Treatment of comminuted and complex/displaced proximal humeral fractures, especially in osteoporotic bones, has been a big challenge. This is where our ‘PHILOS’ locking plate comes to the rescue. It is a locked compression plate which requires minimal invasion and allows indirect fracture reduction lowering the possibilities of AVN, immobilization time and thus prevents the possibility of a frozen shoulder. It is a low profile-plate with proximal fixed angled screws which make it a fixating device with high stability in osteoporotic bones.
